Summer Awareness:
Though recycling started almost four decades ago, there is still a lot to learn! Many of us today still only think of recycling as the blue plastic bins. And when was the last time you were at Starbucks and "got stuck" at the "compost" or "landfill" or "recycle" bins? ha ha. Tips: - Whether flying or
driving, bring along reusable water bottles, coffee mugs and shopping totes to reduce
waste. - Although you sometimes can’t recycle your whole pizza box, you can tear off and
recycle the top half, as long as it’s grease-free. As always, check with
your local solid waste and recycling office to be sure. - You don’t need to rinse out your glass bottles and jars before recycling! Water is the next resource that will probably be rationed. - Recycle your dry cleaning, newspaper, & bread bags and also the plastic film on products like paper towels.
